Just witnessed obvious hacker

Hi guys,

I never thought I would say this, because I trusted punkbuster until now.

But I just came from a server (not one of ours) where I was commanding and witnessed an OBVIOUS hack.

I'm usually the LAST person to call someone a hacker, believe me. I'm usually the one who is accused of hacking actually. :)

Anyhow, so I'm commanding on Operation Clean Sweap map and just as the map ends, I get that cartillery/supply box spam. Then the map ends.

Then the new map loads, Sharqi Peninsula. I command again. I zoom in on their chopper pad at TV Station and hit it with arty. Then I notice arty flying all around my position. I'm under cover so he can't hurt me. While I'm zoomed in, I notice the enemy commander instantly fires another barage of artillery. I'm like WTF? Maybe I was hearing something when I got artilleried before and that wasn't artillery. So I look at his artillery while zoomed in. Sure enough this guy fires artillery over and over and over and over non-stop. With only one second between each set of artillery strikes. I drop a car on one of his artillery pieces to destroy it. He then drops 5 supply boxes right on it all at the same time and it's repaired instantly. Not 1 second later he continues to fire artillery non-stop.

Needless to say, without any admins, I simply left that server.

The reason for my post is just to make you all aware that there is a hack out there. I think it's related to that cartillery spam hack.

I would have screenshot it, but there's no timer on the screen so you couldn't tell that artillery was fired so close together in a still screenshot. A video would be the only way, and I don't have fraps installed.

PB is not as good you think it is. It's full of holes. There are a bunch of hacks out there that PB doesn't/can't catch.

Hacks exist, have since before the game went gold(the public beta got em started) and they'll exist always. PB catches a lot of em, but there's still a lot that it doesn't catch. I've even seen people using them on the WiH servers, I usually just leave when I do, not worth my time to deal with em.

Saw a group of people from the same clan using them on a different server the other day, blatantly obvious radar/minimap hacks. I was the gunner in the F15 and my pilot would hit the flight ceiling and cruise around upside down. Suddenly he'd dive at the ground and start firing his cannons and get a kill. Nothing on the minimap, no one had spotted anything, no UAV, nothing. When I asked what was up, he proceeds to start calling me a noob, saying I obviously don't know anything about jets, he's using his bomb sight to locate targets, etc...only...we're at the flight ceiling and he's upside down? I then asked if the rest of his clan uses the same toy, at which point one his clannies pops and says 'he's the only one of us who flies, why would the rest of us use that hack?'...I cracked up, seriously...idiot didn't realize he'd just told everyone his buddy uses a hack in the jet, which means they know he does it and that they probably all use hacks. League playing clan as well, which really makes me glad I'm not playing in any of the leagues currently, the hacks ARE rampant in them. Someone in the league that charges to play and pays the winners a cut of the jackpot actually posted a screenshot of himself USING hacks in a match, server crashed right at the end of the round so the league rules say no winners, everyone gets their cash back, null round, and this guy wanted his prize since his team had won before the server crashed, hence the screenshot. He realized what he'd posted after someone pointed it out and removed his pic...but not before someone else had quoted him and copied the pic...funny until you realize the person who did it had already won a number of rounds and a good bit of cash thanks to using hacks.

This is probably the most annoying hack right now. PB doesn't do anything and it is a pain to deal with.
