Every player has flown a chopper before. And every player thinks he knows everything and is the best pilot.

However, for those of you who are honest with yourselves, here are some tips that you may find helpful.

When fighting another chopper, the trick is to always remain higher than him and pointing toward him for your gunner.

If you are higher, they have to point up to aim at you. When they point up they lose altitude and they also move backwards. I have, many a time, caused an enemy to simply crash himself into the ground just by remaining higher than him and keeping myself positioned so he keeps pointing up at me and losing altitude. They end up crashing backwards into the ground, it's funny as heck.

If he's a good pilot, then he knows he does not have a lot of time to point upward at you to give his gunner a shot for the TV. He knows he'll go backwards and lose altitude.

You can easily see when he's pointing up and can easily anticipate an incoming TV missle and take evasive action.

Also, the mounted machine guns on choppers do not shoot up. But they CAN SHOOT DOWN! That means if you are higher than the enemy chopper your gunner can shoot him with bullets, but his gunner can not shoot you (unless he lifts up his nose in which case he falls and goes backwards).

It always surprises me when people (who think they know everything and are the best pilots in the world) always debate "higher is better."

Another tip: teach yourself how to circle a position while keeping your nose pointed at it. This is done by turning your tail in the oposite direction that you are rotating around a target. It's not too hard to do and it will help your gunner.

I suggest going on an empty server that has a map with a chopper and a tall smokestack or tower. Use the tower for practice. Circle the tower while keeping your nose pointed at it.

If you circle a flag where enemy infantry are, you are a harder target for handheld rockets, other chopper's TV missles, tanks and TOWs. And if you can keep your nose pointed at a flag position your gunner can hit ground targets.

It is not a good idea to hover in one spot without moving, unless it's to set up your gunner with a TV missle target or infantry kill (like AA) for a brief moment.

And when you're circling you can also pay attention to the horizon and watch for the enemy chopper so he can't sneak up on you.

Also, please note that when your gunner has fired the TV missle, you don't have to stick around and wait for it to hit it's target. You can be moving while the gunner is guiding his TV missle to it's target. As soon as he fires, your gunner's view is changed to the missle, so you don't need to keep the chopper hovering there making yourself a good target for an enemy.

And this goes without saying... make a squad and invite your gunner. This way you can talk to each other in VOIP. If you don't have a headset with a mic you need to buy one! They are like $10-$20 bucks at radio shack.

If you can't afford $10-$20 bucks for a mic, then you should stop playing video games and go get a job!
