i feel like a school boy going on his first date again... except there's no meal to be paid, no sappy movie to sit through, and i'm for sure to get something at the end.

so 5pm came and went... no installation. i called verizon, they put me on hold while talking to dispatch... guy comes back on and says Pacho from dispatch will be calling you shortly to explain the reason why it needs to get rescheduled...
my comment... "so after two weeks of it being scheduled i'm the one that has to phone in to get the update?"
uhm... no sir, sorry but i don't know anything further.
:flipoff:
it's 9:28pm and i've yet to hear from Pacho.
so here's a big :upyours: to verizon.

dude, you know the rules....like when dsl first came out...you order it and get a date for it, but you hsouldnt expect it for at least another month :jester:

guess i got lucky then... when i first ordered dsl i was in an apartment and the order and installation was done like, in a week... then i moved into my house (about 5 years ago) and moved the dsl line with it... done in 2 days.
so... yeah i expect the same level of service from my provider if they wish to keep me as a customer. at the very least call me and tell me i'm screwed.
christ, i get all ready to have a legit ping of 5 so i can brag about it and nothing...

its getting installed for free along with the cat5e cabling in the house... so...
no, if i don't find a job soon Lord ALF may still be moving abroad.
well see though... i don't mind traveling/moving but i have a home i love and friends here and online i don't really care to part with at this time.
but we'll see... life is full of surprises.

Never expect anything on time from verizon. couple weeks ago my DSL went down for like 5 days, it too them 5 days to tell me that it was something in one of their lines that they fixed in 5minutes. this is after I called them several times a day, You'd think they woulda looked into it on day1 being as how they are 2miles from me... instead they sit there and :jerkit: all day for 5 days
Sounds like adelphia. I've got a cable connection from them, and the bullshit stories they give you are amazing. " Yeah, we think it's a problem just in that area. Could be the weather interacting with the cables. " Yeah, they don't even investigate the problem half the time they just give you ridiculous excuses.

the basic problem is you assume your local phone company or cable company gives a shit whether you live or die. alf you said if they arwe concerned about keeping you as a customer? trust me they are not concerned. where else are you going to get a landline? cable companies? they could give a shit what are you gonna do switch cable companies? no not unless you want a dish. they all have you at their mercy you mean nothing to them. the only alternative is to disconnect it all and move to a cave. :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester:

mkay... the fibre has landed and i just want to say
ALL YOUR BASE BELONG TO US!
HEHE
was on last night and had a low ping of 10 with a high of 26... course my skills still suck... hence why i wear the ~FiSh~ badge of mishonour.
:D
i was playing around with the fibre box outside the house and talking to the tech dude that was installing it... room for 4 seperate lines, the WAN hookup and cable?! woot, they'll be offering cable/dTV over the fibre towards the end of the year. seems they're working deals with the local cable providers AND DirecTV... SWEET... phone, internet, and TV over one line... the way it should be! Course they're still split off to copper, CAT5e, and coax at the box... still cool tho.

Don't get me started with Adelphia... Awesome connection as long as it's working (6mbit down 768k up  ), but if it breaks, you might as well forget it getting fixed quickly. I was down for 2 weeks a while back and I kept getting (we're upgrading and you should be back online within 24 hours) from pretty much everyone I spoke to.
Adelphia Service :upyours: :upyours: :upyours:
If fiber is ever offered, I'm there!!! :)
