Do you use a mic for BF2? If yes, do you use ingame comms or TS or both? (Poll responses are public)

Yes, and for both Comms and TS. Comms for ingame chat, TS for other stuff and squad leader coordination.

yeah. refuse to play on anyserver that does not suport it. makes working with your squad and the brass easier.

i use all of it.
im always on ts, partly for admining, partly to hang out with friends
im always using in-game voip with squad so i dont spam ts or talk to squadmates not on ts.
this in conjunction with the ingame commands for commo.
i lonewolf a fair amount lately and dont need much voice commo then. but when in a squad is pretty necessary it seems.
I would be shocked to find any members not using a mic unless they are having issues.

Yes, what's the point of playing BF2 without comms?

i voted yes and that i use it for both. i have my mic on my desk but i rarely find a squad that is using ingame comms. i do have it active tho. usually at the least the commander is talking. i sometimes have ts open, but that seems about as dead as ingame comms so lately i haven't even bothered starting it up. but i do have both setup and ready to use if needed!

I usually use the mic in-game however, if there are asshats I will go on TS to tell the admins, and sometimes ill just go on occasionly. Most of the time TS causes my game to slow down though.

I'll play with both TS and VOIP going, don't seem to use it as much as others. Frogbait and Warmachine are great as SL or Commanders because they are pointing everything out. I still wonder how they manage all that and still play awesome. I just usually listen and pipe in every now and then.

I could not imagine playing without both comms. The game takes on a whole other dimension when you add the VOIP communication. The game is easier to play faster and more effective with good comms.

Both! i hate not being able to communicate with my squad... and TS so i can get ahold of admins for asshats, and to be in the w33t channel and make fun of my boys when i kill them on the other team! :D  W33Ties
its so much more fun playing with ppl that have mics so you can shoot the shit, make fun of each other, and laugh about funny stuff that happens in game. also it makes leading a squad 100 times easier...

"stick, its hard to knife a man in a jet" - ******* on TS one night
"MF one shot, are you Effing kidding me?! BS!" - Zacc everynight playing BF2
"hows that taste? Eh?" - Every OG that kills me! hahaha:D

yeah i know! actually i've found at least one person talking lately. having a squad leader that talks adds so much more to the game, even if the squad members don't. if everyone talked it would be even better, but i'll take what i can get. i'm still new around here so i don't feel real comfy jumping in a group full of clan guys, but if i see one or two in a mixed squad i'll try and jump in because at least one of them are usually talking.

YES. I think voice comm is a must for a squad to kick some butt. I love grouping with a squad that is using voice comm's and everyone is sticking together owning shit. thats how its supposed to be.

I played a long time without the mic. I was solely the loan wolf type so I figured I didn't need it. Immediately after I joined this forum I set up a mic. The mic brings a whole new aspect to the game. It makes it more personable; for example when you're on a squad with mics and you screw up you feel... like you mast up. At least that's how I feel unlike when there is no mic comm. it's easier to not care and say oh well.

I wish there would have been a sometimes option.
My headset hurts my ears really bad after wearing it for about an hour, so I usually don't wear the headset when I play because I usually play for 2 to 4 hours at a time.
So I have my headset sitting here on my desk plugged in, and if I'm in a squad and everyone else is talking, then I'll throw it on and chat with them.
Most of the time I'm usually lonewolfing as a squad leader. I just make a squad and be squadleader so that I can request UAV's as well as Vehical Drops. As a squad member you can only request vehical drops and supplies.

Mic always in sqaud coms, I'm not usually on the WIH TS because me and my boys are on my Vent server. I hang out there because we have a lot of folks that chat with us about various other games.

wrap it around your neck instead and just pull the mic towards your mouth... thats what i do...

I use a mic when I want, but I normally don't talk much.

I would, but the mic is pretty unsensitive. I mean, it has to be within an inch of my mouth to pick me up good, an inch and a half away and it wont work.

you can change that in windows to make it pic up better.
i have a logitec with the old plugs so i can let the sound go through my speakers and i keep the mic down around my neck. this way there is no ear pain or head ache.
That makes my neck itchy...

Yeah, I already have mic boost and everything setup, but it didn't change it too much.
So I did try putting it around my neck yesterday, makes me feel like I'm wearing a dang tie.
