My next BF2 Unlock

Hi everyone,

It'll be a while before I can play again because of connection problems, but I thought I would ask the community for some input in the meantime.

I am approaching 8000pts and hence my next unlock (yes I am lowly ranked!) and I am very unsure what to go for. The unlocks I currently have are all from the original set of unlocks. They are: medic, AT, Spec Ops, Sniper. (I forgot all the weapons names)

I am all over the place in terms of what I like to play most, but I lean towards Medic and Spec Ops the most. I have heard the PKM is a good gun and have been intested in getting that because I enjoy playing support and would like to play it more, but I have also heard the G36e is good and can be used for both medic and spec-ops. I don't have special forces yet (I have the other expansions), but I will get it as soon as I know if I want the g36e.

Alright the G36E is a good gun for medic but since its burst you do need to get used to it. Now you CANNOT use the G36E with spec ops. Thats a different gun called the G36C with has the full auto feature. It is a weaker gun compared to the G36E. Now the guns you might want to consider getting will be the following.

P90 (anti-tank) excellent gun for mid range if used in bursts and devastating in close range due to rate of fire

G3 (Assault) Strong gun capable of a lot of 1 hit wonders but 20 bullet clip is a major disadvantage. Moderate Accuracy

G36E (Medic) Excellent gun for any scenario. Excellent accuracy if used in single and burst is still pretty good.

MP7 (Engineer) High rate of Fire and Pretty good accuracy for a smg. Its a pretty good gun for engineers compared to the shotgun.

thats true.....ok then G36E is definately out but the p90 wasn't with special forces if I recall right. The mp7 not sure about that one. Someone will have to verify that since I'm not sure.

F2000, G36E, SCAR-L, MG36 are the guns I know for a fact are special forces. The MP7 I want to say it is not special forces but damn I just don't know lol.

Edit : I'll be home in about 90 minutes so if no one verifies by then I can check for myself easily.

the mp7 and the p90 are both sf, i just looked. both come after shotguns in their respective class.

The P90 is a unlock that came with a patch not SF.

sorry then, the bf2s ubar has it listed as an SF unlock.

was there an unlock for AT for SF then? all i have is the base gun, the shotgun and the p90.

There wasnt a sniper or AT unlock with SF

huh, i got all that from the bf2s ubar, i guess they just put it there since they are all 2nd tier unlocks. patch or not, can you unlock those weapons without sf?

I hadn't had a chance to check this thread since early yesterday evening and I find that several of you have responded with your comments. Thanks! +rep for all of you...even if you don't give a darn about rep :)

I will almost definitely be getting special forces no matter what and if I decide that the gun I want is in special forces then I will definitely get it so i'll listen to your advice as if I already had it.

G36C, M95, G3, PKM, Jackhammer MK3A1, L85A1, DAO-12, L96A1 and P90 are all regular BF2 unlocks. The SCAR-L, F2000, MG36, MP-7, and G36E are the Special Forces unlocks.
