Looks sweet, although I think normal/bump/spec mapping on those rocks looks kinda stupid. Too shiny and Doom3-ish.
I hope they don't go nuts with that type of look.

their renders right now, so ingame will look considerably diffrent.
but looking foreward to a rally game considering i'm better at that then driving on roads.

In games or in real life?! :dunno:

I don't think their renders dude.. I'm pretty sure the engine supports all those effects (depth of field, motion blur, particles, bump/normal maps)

I wish the people who did Richard Burns Rally would make another rally game. I know that Richard Burns is dead.
But that doesn't stop them from taking all their hard work, updating it, and making a new game.
RBR is the absolute best rallying game I have ever played. Your mileage may vary. It's so much of a sim that it is extremely difficult for some people on the harder settings. But even so, I loved the challenge.
I love me some CMR and even Rallisport Challenge, but once I tasted the simulation-style rallying, I just can't go back.

Yeah FG I'd like to see another Richard Burns rally or at least another by the same people, it had some great physics.

It's such a mix for me. On the one hand, when I win in RBR, I feel like I really EARNED the win. But you never feel like a rock star, it's hard to make it look easy ('cause it's not!)
In CMR or RC, you can definitely look and feel like a rallying rock star, which is half the fun of video gaming- to do things you couldn't normally do. I'm pretty sure I could wreck/roll a car, but winning a rally looking like Sebastian Loeb....probably not :)
So I'm definitely down for the new CMR and since it's the 360's only rally offer so far, it'll be coming home with me. Just wish it had some competition.

It will for sure.. the 360 isn't all that old.
Although you're right, there aren't all that many Rally games. Not like there used to be when RBR, CMR, CRC and Rallisport were all out at once.

about the effects, sure it can probally do them.
but are you really paying that much attention ?

Yes, yes I am.
Honestly, since I model and texture game assets myself (and hopefully soon in the industry), I spot the smallest little detail.
