When I'm playing I think of tons of things I need to ask when I'm not getting my head blown off, then when I try and post thme the next day, I can't remember what they were. Today, I remembered one.

I still can't figure out how to activate the console ~ thing. Where do I go to enable that?

Last night there was banter about pop-up ads, leading me to think you run an open browser "behind" the game screen. I never have anything open when I play or I start lagging but maybe that's it? And how can you minimize the gamescreen to see anything else without closing it?

And what about these gun names? Everytime someone says to buy this or that gun, I can never find the name on the list. Auto shotty, I know. Machine gun and duals, I know. Is there a crossreference guide for the rest, or what?

In other news, my KD ratio is still around 1:3, but my skill level is easing it's way up.

for console:

go into game options, in the very first tab select the advanced options button. There should be an option to allow ~ to enable console.

For minimizing:

Assuming you are using windows, you can just press Alt + Tab to minimize the game screen without closing it

For weapons:

I recommend asking people online or maybe someone can post a home-made cross reference

For console.

Select options

then KEYBOARD tab

then ADVANCED button

then put a check in the ENABLE DEVELOPER CONSOLE ~

click OK



one warning on ALT-TABing out, it takes me FOREVER (actually 30secs-1minute) to get back in. Seems like it locks up, but it will eventually come back if I don't touch anything. I only do it to change channels on TS.

kind of a weapon rundown. I list the order in the buy menu,
so you can hit your number keys, instead your mouse ( B, 4,1)
as well as menu names and commonly used names.

Pistols- no rundown, keep standard or buy your favorite, most
ppl prefer deagle which is 1,4

Sub-machine guns
Buy menu 3.
3.1 Schmidt Machine Pistol : called the TMP, small silenced
CT weapon
3.1 Ingram Mac-10 : mac 10, small cheap, inaccurate T only
3.2 KM Submachine Gun : called the mp5 by most, preferred
submachine gun by most
3.3 KM Ump45 : the ump, slower rate of fire than mp5, larger
caliber bullet
3.4 ES C90 : called the p90 by most, very large clip, good for
close encounters, I like to spray and pray with this
Assault Rifles (T's and CT menus are very different)
Terrorist Buy menu
4.1 IDF Defender : called galil, larger clip size(35),good and
cheap
4.2 CV-47 : the good ole ak-47, bad accuracy with a heavy
finger, but still a very good weapon
4.3 Schmidt Scout : scout, the standard sniper weapon on WIH
pubs
4.4 Krieg 552 : ,assault rifle with small scope,
some like it, good for large open maps I suppose
4.5 Magnum Sniper Rifle : the AWP, one-shot kill sniper rifle
very loud and distinctive sound
4.6 D3/AU-1 : the terrorist auto-sniper, zoom in and squeeze a
few off

CT rifle menu
4.1 Clarion 5.56 : called the famas, can be quite deadly at long
range using the burst mode
4.2 Schmidt Scout : same scout as above
4.3 Maverick M4A1 Carbine : the m4, or the colt, called either,
standard and much loved CT weapon, easy to control
spray at closer ranges
4.4 Bullpup : called the aug, assault rifle with small scope, sorta
like the T counterpart
4.5 Krieg 550 Commando : auto-sniper, seems somewhat more
effective than T counterpart
4.6 Magnum Sniper Rifle : the awp

the rest of the buy menu is easy, and names are much the same
shotguns are 2,1 or 2,2, pump is one and auto shotty is 2
